“Our mission at Torre is to create an environment where God’s children have the right to grow, learn, feel safe and be happy. We respect and look after each other in the way that God has taught us.”
We “Live life in all its fullness.” John 10:10.
Daily Prayer and Reflection
Daily prayer is an important part of life at Torre. Every classroom has a designated area for prayer. Every morning each class has a 1 minute of focussed reflection time based on a theme. The children sit quietly looking at the class candles and reflect.
We have a hardworking team of staff, pupils, a parent, a governor and a vicar striving to ensure that our strong christain ethos and values are at the heart of everything we do at Torre. This committee meets regularly and works towards an action plan to address any current issues. Please see our separate page which can be found within 'About Us'.
Follow the Olive Tree trial of peace, reconciliation and forgiveness through the school.
First station: Learn about the significance of the olive tree, one of the first trees to be mentioned in the bible and used by Noah. Use the Olive tree branch to reconcile with your friends.
Second station: Count your blessings. Despite life sometimes being difficult, there is always a reason to be thankful for our blessings. Write them in the Blessings book and ring the gong as a symbol of thankfulness.
Third station: Find out about Cairns and their symbolism. Write a name on your own stone to pray for and add to the Cairn in KS1 playground.
Fourth Station: Learn all about Saint Francis and his love of animals, especially birds. Look around the school grounds for birds and the feeders. Hang a bird feeder in your own garden to encourage birds to visit.
